Dedra Spradling, M.A.
Dedra received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in 2014. She is currently working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Undergraduate studies resulted in a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Over 10 years later of working in law enforcement and with Juvenile Justice Youth, Dedra became determined to help children, youth, and families learn alternative choices to address the issues that often lead them to the Justice System, so she pursued her counseling education. From 2012 to 2014, she utilized an internship to provide individual, family, marriage, and group counseling. Immediately following graduation, Dedra began working in community mental health where she remained until she joined the Transformation team.
Dedra was born and raised in Dayton, Tennessee, where she currently resides with her husband (and best friend), and teenage-son who is a first year college student. Dedra’s love for her husband and son is only surpassed by her love for God and for serving Him. She and her husband are Disaster Response Chaplains, certified through Homeland Security and F.E.M.A. Dedra is proud of her hometown and is passionate about providing services that are needed to the wonderful people of Dayton. She uses a strengths-based approach in working with clients and helps the individual see their own potential. Dedra sees each of her clients through “Jesus lenses” as they walk through the door because Christ gave His life for that individual. She has experience with working with children, adolescents, and adults. Special interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, young adult life transitions, and marital counseling.
